Monday Made It - June 29

I am so excited to be linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics today for my very first Monday Made It!

My first made it comes from Kelli from Tales of a Tenacious Teacher! If you haven't had a chance to check out her blog, I highly suggest you do! She has been a huge inspiration for my teaching! At the beginning of the summer, she had a flash freebie for her new resource, Accountable Talk Posters

As soon as I downloaded them, I knew that I had to make them and use them during my reading workshop time. I printed out all 13 posters and laminated them for durability. Now that I have cut them all out, I plan on hanging them underneath my bulletin board that I use for small group reading time! I'll post that picture when I hang them up in my classroom this week!

One of the many things I love about these posters is how easy they will be for students to understand. Kelli has provided a the type of accountable talk, a visual, a definition, and the sentence stem. She has also highlighted key words! Can I just say one more time how much I LOVE these posters?

My second made it was inspired by this pin that I found on Pinterest.

(The original pin has no link, so if anyone knows who I can give credit to please let me know.)

I love that this board is not only a way to organize exit slips, which I use daily in my classroom, but also a way for students to self-assess how the feel about their knowledge of the content. So far, I have remade all of the pieces in this picture in my classroom colors.

Now that I have all of the pieces, I just need to find some folders or baskets, so that my students will have a place to put their exit slips. Once I have done that, I will then put everything up on a bulletin board in my classroom! Look for a finalized picture later!

My third made it are posters that will help my students write their weekly SMART goals. On each posters, I have what the letter stands for, an example goal, and highlighted key parts.

My final made it are math problem solving strategy posters that my students will use this year during math centers. When students solve story problems in their math journals, they will be required to complete all of the steps on the posters. It is my hope that these posters will help students read and be able to solve story problems easier!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

  3. Love the exit slip idea! It looks like it would go well with the check for understanding that I have in my classroom and would give me more feedback on my students' thinking.
